Karachi, April 16: The grand finale of Pantene Bridal Couture Week organized by Style360 took place here yesterday. As is customary for the organizing team, they had given the entire ramp and stage a fresh look with new pictures in the picture windows.
The show opened with Asifa and Nabeel’s impressive collection comprising sartorial wear as well as bridals which played with multi-layers and textures. She was followed by Tabassum Mughal who showcased a fusion-wear bridal collection and then moved on to heavily-worked, ethnic bridal ensembles. VJ Saira Yusuf donned her showstopper.
The Egyptian dancer Hamada once again enthralled the audience with his fascinating tanura dance, and like the day before, received a standing ovation. Monia Farooqi closed the show for the evening beginning with her ivory collection with silver work and moving on to block colours. Mani and Hira not only donned the showstoppers they did the complete bridal routine with Mani carrying Hira off the ramp.
The second show opened with Cara by Imran Akhlak and Mustafa Shakil. Their collection comprised western wear with silver work, as well as men’s wear comprising sherwanis worn with shalwars or pants, as well as jacket-sherwanis. Zeba Bakhtiar and cricketers Umar Gul and Yunus Khan donned their show-stoppers.
Hamada’s mesmerizing performance followed. Carat Creations by Sheikh Faisal Habib came in next with jewellery inspired by Vicorian and Mughal era, and outfits designed by Zaheer Abbas. Komal Rizvi resplendent in a red bridal jora then enthralled the audience with her number ‘Lambi Judai’ to a dance choreographed by Hasan Rizvi of BodyBeat. Javed Sheikh joined her at the tail end of her performance in the role of her father. The show ended with 14 top designers of the industry showcasing an ensemble each in a segment titled the Grand Couturiers. Those participating were Amir Adnan, Shamaeel Ansari, Sana Safinanz, HSY, Mehdi, Neelo Allawala, Maheen Khan, Faiza Sami, Deepak Perwani, Nomi Ansari, Shehla Chatoor, Rizwan Beyg, The House of Kamiar Rokni, Umar Sayeed, Nilofer Shahid and Bunto Kazmi. As a surprise treat when all 14 models were on stage pop icon of yesteryear, Alamgir, made an appearance and sang his hit numbers, dancing in his quintessential exuberant style.
